Contest Period: Starting March 24, 2019 at 12:00 noon Eastern Time (ET) and ending June 5, 2019 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Contest Period“).
Eligibility: This Contest is open to legal residents of Canada, 13 years of age or older, except officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents of the Contest Sponsor, NBA Properties, Inc., the National Basketball Association (the “NBA”), and the NBA member teams (collectively, the “NBA Entities”) , the Administrator, their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliates and if, applicable, their advertising or promotion agencies, contest judges, contest prize suppliers, any other companies engaged in the development, production, or distribution of materials for this Contest (collectively the “Contest Entities”), and members of their immediate families (regardless of where they live), or persons domiciled with them (whether related or not). In these Official Rules (the “Rules”), “immediate family” means parents, children, siblings and spouse. Entrants between the ages of 13 and the age of majority in their province/territory of residence will require the permission of their parent or legal guardian to enter the Contest. GRAND PRIZE: There is one (1) grand prize (the “Grand Prize”) available to be won, consisting of a trip to the 2019 NBA Awards (ARV $10,500). The Grand Prize includes:
Round-trip economy class air transportation for two (2) people from the major international airport closest to winner’s place of residence in Canada to Los Angeles, California (USA) (which may include non-direct flights; airport, carrier and airline ticket class selected at the sole and absolute discretion of the Contest Sponsor);
One (1) standard room (double occupancy), for two (2) nights (accommodation to be selected at the sole and absolute discretion of the Contest Sponsor);
One (1) Five Hundred Dollar ($500 USD) Pre-paid gift card for spending; and
Two (2) tickets to attend the 2018 NBA Awards in Los Angeles, California (USA) (June, 2019).Actual value may vary depending on winner’s point of departure and air fare.
The Grand Prize must be accepted as awarded and cannot be substituted, transferred, exchanged or surrendered for cash, except at the sole and absolute discretion of the Contest Sponsor, which may award or substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Due to the nature of the prize, no alternate travel dates are permitted. The difference between the approximate retail value and actual retail value, if any, will not be awarded. The Grand Prize winner and his/her guest are responsible for all other expenses not specifically mentioned herein, including without limitation, ground transportation to and from departure airport, meals, gratuities, taxes, travel documents, telephone calls, in-room movies, mini-bar expenses, room service, medical and travel insurance, excess baggage costs, optional tours, airport departure taxes, duties, all personal expenses and all other expenses not specified herein. The Grand Prize winner’s guest must be a legal resident of Canada. A minor guest must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian at all times. The Grand Prize winner and his/her guest must travel together. Transportation and accommodations subject to availability, standard industry blackout periods, government restrictions and regulations, hotel, airline, airport or other transportation restrictions and regulations. Other restrictions may apply. The Grand Prize winner and his/her guest are responsible for obtaining all required medical and travel related necessities and documentation, including a valid passport, and the right to enter the United States of America. If the Grand Prize winner does not have proper travel documentation, or permission to enter the United States of America, or does not accept or participate in any portion of the Grand Prize for any reason whatsoever (including reasons beyond the control of the Grand Prize winner such as inclement weather delaying or cancelling a portion of the trip), then that portion of the Grand Prize is forfeited, and the Contest Sponsor shall have no further obligation or liability to the Grand Prize winner with respect to the forfeited portion of the Grand Prize. It is recommended that the Grand Prize winner and his/her guest obtain sufficient personal travel insurance (including emergency medical) prior to departure. The Contest Sponsor is not liable if travel is impeded or refused by reason of decisions of Canadian or U.S. government authorities, or other airline or airport authorities. The Grand Prize winner and his/her guest (or parent/legal guardian on behalf of a minor guest) must sign and return the Contest Sponsor’s form of Release (as defined below) prior to the Grand Prize being ticketed. No responsibility is assumed by the Contest Sponsor or the NBA Entities. if the awards show (or element(s) thereof) is cancelled, delayed, suspended or rescheduled after ticketing of the Grand Prize for any reason whatsoever beyond its control. If, for any reason, the awards show does not occur, that portion of the Grand Prize will be forfeited without additional compensation and remainder of the Grand Prize will be awarded in full satisfaction of the Grand Prize award. The Contest Parties shall not be liable for injury, loss, or damage of any kind, resulting from the acceptance, use or misuse of the Grand Prize, travel related thereto or otherwise from participation in the Contest. The Grand Prize winner acknowledges that the Contest Parties have not made or are not in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, condition, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any Prize.
No responsibility is assumed by the Contest Sponsor for any inability of a potential entrant to successfully enter any Draw for any reason or for Prizes that remain unclaimed or unawarded. The Contest Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, mutilated, garbled, illegible or incomplete No Purchase Requests or entries. Proof of transmission (e.g. screenshots) does not constitute proof of receipt.
